Earlier this year, I shared some reflections on a news report that said over 50% of the world would be having elections this year, and how that would affect the workplace.
As you know, there was one in the US last week. One skill which I have been practicing, and highly recommend building is: disruptive empathy.
Disruptive empathy is about more than creating a positive work environment. It’s about ensuring that all voices are heard and valued. And it doesn’t mean you have to agree with everyone – it means that you can understand their perspective.
In a recent article for Ignite Magazine, I wrote about how empathy is a disruptive force that can be used to challenge the status quo and engage others – regardless of whether you have a formal title as leader or not.
I’ve included five strategies that I’ve used, and I know they will help you to develop disruptive empathy. It’s a short two-minute read. Check it out here.
